For over 75 years, the truth that “everyone is equal in the sight of God” has inspired Christian Aid to stand alongside our most marginalised global neighbours, of all faiths and none. They believe that poverty is an outrage against humanity, that it robs people of their dignity and lets injustice thrive. Christian Aid seeks to eradicate extreme poverty by tackling its root causes. Together with people living in poverty, Christian Aid seeks to speak truth to power and create lasting change.
Christian Aid also responds to man-made and natural disasters, especially in regions of the world where life was already challenging enough: the war in Ukraine, the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, and the cyclone in Malawi, to name but a few. You can read about Christian Aid’s amazing work here: www.christianaid.org.uk
This year, the 10th – 20th May is Christian Aid Week. Please be as generous as you can and drop the donations off at the post office or at church.
I’ll finish with a quote from Christian Aid: “A gift of £10 buys 2kg of hardy, drought resistant seeds that thrive in the Malawi climate. These seeds produce a crop and an income for families living in poverty, enabling them to feed their children and send them to school”.
As ever, thank you for your generosity. You are making a difference!
