Vicar’s Article: Easter: Hope and Joy!

Easter has a way of coming round quickly, doesn’t it? One moment we’re finishing the Christmas Quality Street, and before we know it the shops are full of Cadbury’s Creme Eggs (other brands are available!). But behind the chocolate (which I enjoy!) is the heart of the Christian faith: the joyful news that Jesus is alive. The Easter story begins with sadness and confusion. Jesus’ friends thought everything was over. Yet on the first Easter morning the tomb was empty and the message was clear: “He is risen!”
Easter reminds us that God brings new life and hope, even when things seem dark or uncertain. Just as spring follows winter, God’s love brings fresh beginnings. So this Easter, enjoy the chocolate (I will!). But above all, celebrate the good news: Christ is risen, and hope is alive.
As I always say: you are very welcome to celebrate Easter with us at All Saints. Our warmth, welcome and worship will – hopefully – give you a glimpse of new life in Christ. Happy Easter!
