Thelwall Rose Queen: God’s Gift!

I love Thelwall Rose Queen weekend! The floats, the music, the drummers, and the dancers. The generations of villagers who line the streets and fill Chaigeley field. And the highlight of the day: the joyful crowning of the new Rose Queen.
In my opinion, Rose Queen weekend is a gift from God. Why? Well, festivals like this are not only about entertainment. They also help to strengthen the bonds of friendship, belonging and care that hold our village together. In a busy and often fragmented world, such moments matter deeply. Community (especially Thelwall) is God’s gift to all of us.
As this year’s Thelwall Rose Queen Festival approaches, we offer our heartfelt thanks to our retiring Rose Queen, Emilia Passey, whose confidence, warmth and composure have brought great joy to village life and helped strengthen our sense of community. We also extend a very warm welcome and congratulations to our wonderful Rose Queen-elect, Jenny Richieson. We look forward with
excitement to Jenny’s reign — though hopefully not too much rain!
