Vicar’s Article: A flow of generosity
It’s our harvest festival on Sunday, 6th October at 10am. This service presents us with a wonderful opportunity to reflect on God’s
abundant provision and the blessings we receive. And, of course, as we celebrate the fruits of the earth, we are reminded of the importance of generosity. Just as God has freely given to us, so we are called to share with others, especially those in need. Jesus said: “Freely you have received; freely give”. So, how can we express our generosity at harvest? Well, as a church, we support the Warrington Foodbank. Foodbanks play a vital
role in our town, offering support to individuals and families facing hardship. By donating tins and packet food for the foodbank, we
embody the love, compassion and generosity of Jesus. And, together, we can ensure that no one goes hungry; that the spirit of giving flows from our village of Thelwall into the wider community. So, why not join in with the flow of generosity, even if your gift needs to be small? We’d really welcome the following harvest donations at our service on 6th October:
- Tins & Packet Food for the Foodbank
- Flowers (not fruit & veg) for housebound, bereaved & sick.
Generous thanks from me to you!
Revd Douglas Black
