Harvest – Gratitude and Generosity
Harvest is a time to stop, give thanks to God for all that we have, and remember that not everyone shares the same abundance. For most of us, the challenge may sometimes be deciding what to do with all the good things in our cupboards. The vicarage pantry is an Aladdin’s Cave of tins, tastes and textures!
But for some people in our town, simply having enough food can be a real concern. Last year, the Warrington Foodbank provided over 7,000 food parcels to nearly 3,000 households. Hard to believe in 2025\26 in Warrington. But it’s fact. That’s why, as part of our Harvest Festival service on Sunday, 4th October (10am), we encourage folk to bring tins, packets and other long-life foods for the Foodbank. What may seem like just a few food items from each of us can, together, make a real difference to people facing difficult times.
So let’s make this Harvest a celebration of gratitude and generosity
– thanking God for what we have and sharing his gifts with others.
