5 Ways to Wellbeing

Full disclosure I have my plug in heated fleecy blanket over my lap as I write this bbbrrrrr. Much to look forward to though as the leaves will soon be changing colour and the nights drawing in, it’s the perfect time to snuggle up and enjoy our homes and families. Hopefully there will be some good telly to watch and if we’re
fortunate plenty of good food to eat. Talking of which I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along to the Village Cream Tea to eat scones and help us raise funds. With the fantastic team who helped to make it happen and generosity from Tesco Local we raised £677 towards the printing of the magazine which is tremendous. So many people gave up their Sunday afternoon to help set up, serve, brew and wash up-awesome thank you. Special thanks though to Mia Rae who entertained us singing beautifully and making the whole thing so very special, when she’s famous I will take such pleasure in knowing I was at her first gig!
There are a few cries for help throughout the mag, Rose Queen need volunteers, the church needs help delivering this magazine and the scouts need new leaders for the Beavers. I know that giving up your time for regular voluntary positions is not always easy but I also know how rewarding it is. If you have a little time to spare I’m sure you have skills that our local organisations would be incredibly grateful of. ‘Giving’ is one of the 5 Ways to Wellbeing, guaranteed to benefit your mood as you recognise the impact you make by contributing to your community. While you’re at it it’s probable you will ‘Connect’ with others and ‘Learn Something New’ being busy and occupied so that you are ‘Active’ and ‘Taking Notice’ of what you are doing not worrying about other things. When there is so much to gain from giving just a little, what’s stopping you?
Have a good one, love and respect Pip
