Thelwall Rose Queen 2025

We are delighted to announce that Emilia Passey will be crowned Queen at the 60th Thelwall Rose Queen Festival on Saturday, 21st June 2025.
Emilia, an 11-year-old pupil at High Legh Primary School, will lead this year’s festivities with the support of her retinue; Lola Chappel, Ava Butler, Sophie Bennion Jessica Williams, Layla McDowell and Amala McDowell as attendants, Josh Shaw as the Crown Bearer, and faithful soldiers; Wilf Cullen, Elijah Guite, Alexander Bossward, Hewie McGrane and Toby McGrane, who will stand guard for the parade.
Looking ahead, Emilia is excited to be starting at Lymm High School in September. She leads a busy and active life, with a deep passion for dance and animals. She takes weekly horse riding lessons at High Legh Riding Centre and attends several dance classes with Joanne Elaine School of Dance, where she especially enjoys performing on stage. This year’s bi-annual dance show will take place shortly after the Rose Queen festivities.
Emilia has also been a dedicated member of Thelwall Girl guiding, participating from Rainbows all the way through to Guides.
A true animal lover, Emilia shares her home with seven family pets and dreams of one day becoming a country vet, allowing her to combine her career with her love of animals.
There is a strong family legacy behind Emilia’s crowning, with many of her aunts, uncles, and cousins having taken part in the Thelwall Rose Queen celebrations over the years, whether in the retinue or on the floats.
This year’s festival theme is “Heroes and Villains”. The colourful procession will begin at 1pm from Thelwall Parish Hall, with the crowning ceremony to follow on Chaigeley Field. Join us in celebrating this special community tradition and in congratulating Emilia on her upcoming reign as Thelwall Rose Queen 2025!
