Vicar’s Article: Rose Queen Festival: Thelwall’s Blooming Heart!
The annual Thelwall Rose Queen celebrations are more than just a colourful parade; they’re the beating heart of our community. For sixty years, this tradition has woven us together, creating memories and fostering a sense of belonging. I’ve enjoyed 23 of them!
It’s a chance for neighbours to connect, for children to shine, and for the whole village to celebrate together. From the crowning of the Rose Queen to the vibrant procession, the event brings a splash of colour and joy to our lives.
It’s a reminder of the importance of tradition, the beauty of community spirit, and the simple joy of a summer afternoon. So, let’s support the Rose Queen on Saturday, 21st June, celebrate our village, and keep this wonderful tradition blooming for generations to come!
Our thanks to the retiring Rose Queen, Zara Whittaker-Ive, for the joy and purpose she has brought to our community life over the past year. And a big welcome and congratulations to our Rose Queen elect, Emilia “Millie” Passey.
Let’s thank God for our Rose Queen, our village and its traditions!
