It’s easy to get caught up in all the trappings of Christmas – there’s so much to do! Shopping, cooking, decorating, sorting out family visits, cards and presents, the list is endless. No matter how well planned we are, the last few days before Christmas still end up being a bit of a rush!
But ultimately our festivities are less to do with the wrapping, and more about the people at the heart of it: our families and friends. It’s just the same with the Christmas story itself – it’s meaningless without the person at the centre of it all: Jesus.
The Son of God, born as a baby, is God’s ultimate gift of love to the world. He came, in person, to live amongst us, to show us what love truly is. As the apostle John puts it: “This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him”.
Do join us in our celebrations – you’ll be very, very welcome!
