Editorial

Happy Easter everyone, I do hope I will get to see lots of you at one event or another over the next few weeks. One of my favourites is the Easter Egg Hunt, we started it many years ago as a family,
community event over the bank holiday weekend. It has grown and grown in popularity-last year we were a little overwhelmed by the numbers! This year rest assured our team of very willing and long suffering volunteers are rested and ready to welcome you in as quickly as possible. We have noted that the prize giving and distribution of eggs at the end needs careful management and with the help of our fabulous Rose Queen Millie we believe we have it all in hand. I tend to only see a sea of children’s faces as I face paint from start to finish, it’s a real highlight in terms of events from my perspective. PS the face painting is free!
While we were in Spain in February it was carnival season, we saw street parades that went on for hours with some very colourful and frankly quite alarming outfits on display. It reminded me just how much work goes on all year to make the Rose Queen happen and how much it relies on everyone doing their bit. It’s a little sad that getting and decorating a vehicle for the parade is a bit tricky for some groups these days. However I saw in Spain just how incredible it can look when a group get together and dress up around a given theme and walk together with big smiles. If you would like to get involved but don’t ‘belong’ to any particular group please know that you are very welcome to join our church walking float. Just drop me a note if you want more details pip@allsaints.org.uk
Likewise if you’re enjoying the magazine but think we need to know about something you’re upto, if you want to offer up a film or book review that you think the community will enjoy or any other relevant contribution I would love to hear from you.
