Thelwall 1100 – The Final Curtain
A contract has now been placed with a heritage plaque manufacturer and we look forward to being able to share the end products at the T1100 AGM on Thursday 27 March at 7pm, Laskey Farm Barn. Hopefully they’ll be installed during April.
We are still trying to get approval from Warrington Borough Council for two information boards to tell the stories of Thelwall Hall (Elizabeth Park) and Thelwall Railway Station (on the Transpennine Trail).
All these heritage signage projects are thanks to the tremendous efforts of members of Thelwall History Group with help on design and artwork from Kerrie Johns and Mike Moss.
There has been a ‘re-think’ on the art installation and we are trying to work out a simpler solution incorporating a time capsule at a safer site.
Looking ahead, Thelwall Parish Hall and Chaigeley Field will be our base for a day of final celebrations on Saturday 11 October. We’d welcome your suggestions at the AGM as to what would make the occasion memorable for you and our whole community. There will also be a special service at All Saints’ Church on Sunday 12 October at 10am.
Whether you enjoyed the events of October 2023, or you missed them, now’s your chance to help us bring down the curtain on Thelwall 1100 in 2025.
